Townsend Elementary School

Thanks to continued grant funding from the Catskill Watershed Corporation, Hanford Mills once again came to Townsend Elementary to offer students hands-on activities to support the school’s curriculum, provide education about watersheds and how students are connected to them, and the effect they have on water systems. Recently, second graders learned about hydro-science. Students were able to see how many drops of water fit on the surface of a penny and if water can move by itself. Through a series of fun and simple experiments. Students explored the interesting properties of water. #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

Thank you bus drivers! As part of bus safety week, the Walton Central School District recognized its drivers for Bus Driver Appreciation Day on Wednesday. Drivers were honored with safety certificates, as well as elementary students coming to sing two songs. This annual event is a way to recognize our drivers for all the hard work they do to make sure our students are always safe! Thank you for all that you do! #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

Warriors Crush Hunger once again took place at Walton CSD, running a food drive to give back to the community. Last week, football players Colby Phraner and Seth Hunter visited Townsend Elementary to explain the program to younger students. The program collects food each year to deliver to the Walton food bank. #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD
