This year, the high school launched a peer tutoring program for students. Applications were carefully reviewed and three students were selected as peer tutors.  From left in the photo: Aurora Siniscalchi (sophomore), Makara MacGibbon (senior), and Rachel Trimbell (senior).  Any student in grades 9-12 in need of tutoring services can contact their school counselor to be matched with a tutor.  In addition to the peer tutors, tutoring is provided daily by Walton CSD teachers for math, English, science, and social studies during activity period. Students are strongly encouraged to utilize this support during the school day.  #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

During announcements Friday morning, members of Walton CSD’s GSA club spoke about Human Rights Day, which is Saturday, December 10. Human Rights Day is observed each December 10, which is the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The document proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. The document, which is available in more than 500 languages, is the most translated document in the world, according to the UN. Pictured are (from left): GSA adviser Kate Hoffmeister, Aurora Siniscalchi, Phade Lindsay, Aly Siar, and adviser Ellen Nary.
