In June, middle school health classes created many health advocacy messages on the sidewalk in front of the school.
Advocacy is a lifelong health skill that the classes have worked on throughout the year. Students had to pick something they learned about over the course of the year, had passion for, or wanted to see a change for community and societal health.
The messages students came up with included self-esteem, anti-bullying, mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drugs.
