Five Walton CSD students recently represented DCMO BOCES at the Area II SkillsUSA competition, which was held in Morrisville.
Elizabeth Richards placed the highest of the Walton students, placing third as part of the promotional bulletin board team. She’s pictured, on the far right, along with Afton teammates Amelia Greenman, and Allison Hauptmann.
Other Walton students competing were: Aireonna Beardslee (heath knowledge bowl team), Grace Doig (first aid/CPR), Tristen McClenon (served on the house of delegates), and Heidi Decker (customer service).

The sixth-grade class recently participated in a mini AVP workshop. High school facilitators led activities that allowed the students to make connections, learn good listening skills, and build conflict resolution skills.

The Walton Central School District music department presents Beauty and the Beast at 7 pm March 24, and Saturday, March 25.
Senior Citizens are invited to attend the final dress rehearsal at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 23. This performance is free and open only to senior citizens.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday's shows are $8 at the door/$7 in advance for adults, and $6/$5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the high school or Walton Music House.

Leading into the second-quarter middle school awards assembly, middle school students competed in a volleyball tournament during their advisor classes. The winning team was in seventh grade – Burnsworth’s Bananas. The winning team then played a teacher team at the awards assembly!

Good luck to Noah Sovocool, who will compete at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Division II state wrestling championship on Friday and Saturday at the MVP Arena in Albany.
Sovocool, a senior, is 34-11 this year. He is seeded 13th at 145 pounds and will face No. 20 Jesse Firestone of Locust Valley in the opening round. Should he win that match, he will face 4th-seeded Kyle Barber of Bayport-Blue Point in the second round.
Before school let out for the February break, students at Townsend Elementary lined up to wish Sovocool good luck at states.
