Dear Walton Central School District Families and Staff,
The Walton Central School District was notified by law enforcement Wednesday evening about what they deemed to be a non-credible internet-based threat against Walton CSD.
The threat, which was posted last week, was investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies.
School operations remain normal as the threat was deemed to be non-credible.
Walton CSD takes the safety of its students and staff in the highest priority and will continue to maintain our relationship with law enforcement agencies to address any and all threats.
Unfortunately, we have seen and continue to see an increase across the country in threats and incidents against schools. This is a reminder for all students, staff, and community members that it is imperative if you see or hear something, say something. You can tell law enforcement or school personnel. Any and all reports of threats will be thoroughly investigated and responded to appropriately, as a school district in partnership with law enforcement.
