Forty juniors and seniors from the Walton Central School District participated in the Hamilton Education Program through the Gilder Lehrman Institute.
Students had to research primary sources on the founding era of American history. Next, they created an original piece of work (poem, song, monologue, play) based on their research. Once the students completed and submitted their work to the Gilder Lehrman Institute, they were then able to travel to New York City to watch the Tony Award winning musical Hamilton.
Teacher Marcia Albrecht, who is a member of the institute, applied for and received the opportunity for Walton CSD.
