Flexible seating has been added as part of the rooms for teachers Tracie Woods, Lori Cetta, and Josie Schmidt. The furniture was purchased through the IDEA American Rescue Plan funds.
This furniture has many benefits in the classroom setting, allowing students to wobble, rock, bounce, lean, or stand. This increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow, and core strength. As a result, students are increasing metabolism, which keeps young minds more alert and focused.
Townsend Elementary also recently purchased new cafeteria tables. Tables were replaced because of broken pieces and outdated hardware.
The new tables are more inviting and custodians expressed happiness as the older tables were harder to repair.
