Four members from the inaugural Walton CSD trap shooting team competed early in July at the USA High School Clay Target League championships, held in Mason, Michigan.

Four Walton student-athletes competed. The four who competed and their scores were:

  • Peyton Tweedie (92/100)
  • William Buckley (70/100)
  • Cael Howland (67/100)
  • Kandra McGraw (64/100)

This is the only event nationwide where students are invited to attend and compete at the same venue.

Nine students took part in the first-year team, including the four who attended nationals as well as Kaleb Sovocool, Ty Lambrecht, Garrett Day, Jillian Wright, and Havyn Merwin. Of the nine, eight went to the state tournament and four to nationals.

The team was invited to nationals, but because of scheduling conflicts, the full team couldn’t attend.
