Earth Day at Townsend Elementary

Posted Thursday, April 22, 2021

Earth Day was celebrated throughout the day at Townsend Elementary, as students had the chance to witness a new maple tree planted, and other classes saw a presentation from the DCMO BOCES conservation program.

Walton CSD students Deacon Phoenix, Zaniel Burrows, and Dustin Copeland, who are part of the program, talked about it, along with DCMO BOCES teacher Zach Whittaker. They presented careers and pathways students could look toward, and how it can be beneficial to the planet.

During the morning, Walton employees Mike Tweedie and Millard Gladstone planted a maple tree near the playground.
