Here is the schedule for this week for sports at Walton CSD. The listing will have spectator limits, as well as live-stream information when applicable.
The listing will be updated throughout the week as necessary, so please check back for new information. Updated info will be noted.
PLEASE NOTE: In regard to spectators, the Walton Central School District will not have any general admission or open admission to any contest, based on guidelines from the Department of Health. Allowed fans will be pre-registered, and will be done so through the athletes on the team.
The district’s focus is maximizing the number of spectators allowable by DOH guidelines and what we can do in a safe manner.
Walton CSD also thanks neighboring districts that have all-weather fields who have allowed schools to utilize their facilities. Please remember we are guests when there, so it is of the utmost importance to respect guidelines for neutral-site games put in place by those schools. The district also does not have control over guidelines in place at opposing districts. For those districts that allow visiting fans (normally two per player), pre-registration is also required through athletes so we can submit a list to the host school.
“As always, we appreciate the support from the community through this pandemic,” Walton CSD Superintendent Mike MacDonald said. “We understand this is difficult for everybody with having restricted access. We are not accustomed to this, but we have to navigate this through DOH guidelines.”
UPDATE (March 30): Field hockey game on March 30 postponed; Girls soccer game on April 1 moved to Downsville. Also, postponement of the April 1 volleyball games at Bainbridge-Guilford.
UPDATE (March 31): Varsity football on April 1 at Sidney has been postponed; The boys and girls modified soccer games at Unatego scheduled for April 1 have been postponed.
UPDATE (April 1): Boys varsity soccer game Thursday at Davenport is postponed; Boys and girls varsity soccer games home vs. Afton/Harpursville on Saturday are postponed. Varsity football game at Sidney, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been moved to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6.
