The Midstate Athletic Conference has postponed the start of high-risk winter sports until February 8.
The original date to start was slated for February 1, but has been moved pending Delaware County being able to meet its rolling seven-day positivity rate.
On Thursday, Delaware County Public Health announced that high-risk winter sports can’t resume until the positivity rate is at or below four percent. As of Thursday, January 28, Delaware County was at 5.9 percent.
For Walton, high-risk winter sports include basketball and wrestling.
Walton CSD will continue to offer its intramural and off-season conditioning programs to students in grades 6-12 as originally scheduled.
