Four new members were inducted into the Walton CSD chapter of the National Honor Society earlier this week.

The ceremony was shorter and smaller than normal because of current health and safety guidelines. Students remained masked, or socially distant, besides when the new members received their hood and signed the NHS book. During that time, they were not within six feet of other members. Also, the only other students in attendance were current NHS officers.

The new members are:

  • Katelynn Brooks
  • Annaliese DelBalso
  • Christina Ritter
  • Madison Serra

The shortened ceremony included the traditional candle writing, as well as explanations of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. New members received their hood, pen, and signed the Walton CSD book.

The new inductees also recited the NHS pledge:

“I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of this society to which I have been elected, striving in every way by word and deed to make its ideals the ideals of my school and of my life.”
