The Walton Central School District will hold a Superintendent’s Conference Day on Monday, March 16. There is no school for students.

Staff is to report and will meet in the high school auditorium at 8 a.m. to discuss the plans and situation surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus.

WCS has been in constant contact with state and local health officials, as well as surrounding districts and are discussing all options.
The district is planning for the likelihood of a long-term closing.

In regard to days following Monday, we will be working with local and state officials. Delaware County has directed schools to close as of 12 a.m. Wednesday, March 18. At this point, students and staff are scheduled to be in attendance Tuesday, March 17. Any changes to this will be announced when more information is known. Please watch Walton’s website and social media. This long-term closure could go until April 14.

We also understand there are a lot of questions and concerns surrounding COVID-19. The situation is fluid and ever-changing, so with that in mind, the district is encouraging families to plan for a long-term closure, which will include your own child care needs. It’s also important to try and remain calm throughout this situation.

As a district, we will keep you updated through school messenger, website, and social media.
