Students in Sal Salvia’s construction class recently finished up a project building a shed.
The shed was built for Joan Vanloan, a retired Downsville teacher who works as a sub at Townsend Elementary. Vanloan purchased all of the materials needed for the shed, which is 8 feet by 12 feet, The shed has three-tab shingles with a Gambrel roof. There are double doors on one end, and a window at the other.
The class used pressure-treated plywood for the siding. The shed was build inside because of the cold winter months.
Students built a model, as well as the main shed. Some of the students noted the model was just as hard to build as the real shed.
