Five named to Class D all-state football team

Five Walton Central School District football players were named to the New York State Sportswriters Association Class D all-state team this week. 
 
Nick Lamoreaux earned first-team honors. Dylan Jacob, Morgan Condon and Jordan Blincoe were named to the second team, and Cody Ray earned honorable mention.
 
Lamoreaux, a senior two-way starter, earned the spot on defense as a linebacker. During the season, he had 95 tackles, six that went for a loss, as well as five interceptions. On offense, Lamoreaux rushed for 640 yards and nine touchdowns on 69 carries. 
 
Jacob and Blincoe each earned a spot on the second-team defense, with Condon making the offensive squad. 
 
Jacob, a senior, finished with 32 tackles as a defensive back, and also had five interceptions. As Walton’s quarterback, he completed 46 of 84 passes for 1,077 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also rushed 57 times for 449 yards and eight touchdowns. 
 
Blincoe, a junior, was one of the keys to Walton’s defensive line as he registered 38 tackles, 15 of which came for a loss. He also had 2.5 sacks. 
 
Condon, a senior had 17 catches this season for 434 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense, he had 23 tackles and two interceptions. 
 
Ray, also a senior, was named as a receiver. This season he had 21 catches for 413 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, he had 33 tackles, including 11 for a loss. He also had 3.5 sacks.
