Walton graduate receives highest degree from FFA

Walton Central School District graduate Claire Loker received her American Degree from the National FFA Organization during the national convention in early November.

Loker, a 2018 graduate, was one of a record 4,353 FFA members recognized as American FFA Degree recipients. Though the number seems staggering, it’s still less than 1 percent of the more than 700,000 FFA members.

The American FFA Degree shows a members dedication to his or her chapter and state FFA association. It demonstrates the effort members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience, and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement that have exhibited during their time as FFA members.

The degree is awarded annually during the national convention and is one of the FFA’s highest honors. Requirements are lengthy. In addition to the certificate, each recipient also receives a gold American FFA Degree key.

Loker, the daughter of Mark and Patricia Loker, is studying agriculture business at SUNY Morrisville.
