Art students learn to make unity blooms

Posted Wednesday, April 3, 2019

Students in Walton CSD’s eighth-grade studio art class recently visited the The Arc of Delaware County Studio 190, where they learned how to make unity blooms from recycled tin.

Students made dozens of unity blooms with the help of the ARC artists. The unity bloom ornaments will be given away to all mothers who visit the upcoming Middle School/High School art show – titled “Mother’s Day Gala,” which will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at the Walton Theatre’s coffeehouse.

That event will feature artwork from WCS middle and high school students, and upcycled creations from the participants of the Studio 190 art program at the Arc of Delaware County.  Also, there will be performances by the Townsend Elementary Select Chorus at 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be offered.
