Before the winter break, a local artist – as well as a student’s grandmother – Mary Jeanniton came to Alice VanBuren’s kindergarten class to help the children create valentines for their loved ones.
Students were supplied a tile to draw on (using Sharpie markers) and then Jeanniton used a special spray to make a dappled effect on the art, which added to the texture. She then finished the tiles at her studio and returned them to the students.
The students were excited to share such a personalized gift.
