The Walton Central School District has started the process for its next Superintendent of

Schools.

Walton Superintendent Dr. Michael MacDonald announced in July that he would be retiring at

the end of the 2024-25 school year.

The Board of Education has named DCMO BOCES District Superintendent Michael Rullo as its

consultant for the search. The position has already been advertised throughout the state in

various places.

The BOE and Rullo will work through initial applicants. Once finalists are selected, there will be

a community forum to meet the candidates. The district will also ask the community to fill out

surveys throughout the process, which will help in selecting finalists.

The BOE will have updates throughout the search via its webpage (menu on the right side of the page). Currently, there is a letter from BOE President Graydon Dutcher about the process.

As part of the process, the Walton CSD is asking district residents, students, and district employees to fill out a survey. You can access it at: https://forms.gle/6tVXFp3wAWQrPPF76. Thank you for taking the time to fill out the survey and your participation is appreciated.
