All four of Walton CSD’s spring sports teams earned scholar-athlete honors from the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) for the 2024 season.
With all four teams earning the honors, that means Walton (along with teams merged with Downsville, and one with Delhi) will earn NYSPHSAA’s School of Distinction as it had 100 percent of its varsity teams for the 2023-24 school year qualify for and receive scholar-athlete team awards.
In the spring, all four sports featured athletes from Walton and Downsville.
Pictured below are those on the scholar-athlete teams who achieved a GPA of 90 and above. To be recognized as a team, the cumulative GPA of the team had to be 90 and above.
Girls track and field had the highest GPA among the teams with a 97.38, followed by boys track (95.57), softball (93.66), and baseball (93.54).
The Midstate Athletic Conference scholar-athletes, recognized as the top GPA on each team, are also pictured below.
