Walton CSD students in home and careers class recently had a chance to taste an all-local tomato sauce developed by SUNY Delhi students. The project, which is part of a grant to introduce area schools to more local foods, will supply 11 of DCMO BOCES’ component districts with the sauce for lunches to be used next year.
Instructors and students from SUNY Delhi’s hospitality management department visited and served the sauce and some pasta to the students, who then voted their favorite of the two sauces.
Students enjoyed the experience and had the chance to be part of the decision on which sauce will be used.
