Transportation
Important information for the start of the school year
It is the district’s goal to provide a safe and economical transportation system for district students. Transportation is provided at district expense to eligible students as authorized by state law (1.5 miles or more from the high school) or the district’s voters (1 mile or more from the Townsend Elementary School measured by the shortest route.)
Transportation Procedures:
In order to facilitate reasonable and sound practices, the following parameters are put into place.
1. Single AM pick-up and PM drop-off points.
2. Daily trip adjustments are not allowed with emergency exceptions (approved by the Building Principal or Superintendent, and the Transportation Supervisor).
3. Single day or consecutive multi-day exception(s) with route and/or pick up/drop off location changes due (approved by the Building Principal or Superintendent, and the Transportation Supervisor) up to 10:00 a.m. on the day of the requested change with specific detail including start and ending dates and location(s). All requests are pending available seating on the bus.
Record keeping and Reporting:
The Transportation Supervisor shall maintain a record of requests, and whether or not they were granted. This record will be maintained for a period of six (6) years.
If you have any questions, please call the transportation department at 607-865-4118.
